The success of the OHS cross country program is well-known, but the middle school teams are making quite a name for themselves. They now have a long tradition of racking up wins and breaking records and this season was no different.
The girls team went undefeated in every regular season and invitational meet and were Conference and Regional champs. They continued on to win the West Michigan MIddle School Cross Country meet and PROM (Post Regional HS/MS Meet). Aly VerHage set two new school records, one for the 2 mile and 3.1 mile.
The boys team won the Conference Championship and PROM and placed 2nd at Regionals. Three runners broke records. Ryan Long broke the overall 2 mile and 2.5 mile records, George Whitaker the 3.1 mile and Reid Richie broke the 6th grade record in the 2 mile.
